Cadbury taps into the demand for seasonal flavours

CHOCOLATE brand Cadbury has expanded on its range of Dairy Milk bars with the launch of its limited edition Strawberries & Creme Frappe flavour.
Rolling out in time for the summer months, the new flavour seeks to tap into the rising demand for more seasonal variants from consumers to help drive up incremental sales for the chocolate category during the warmer months.
The new variant combines Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate with a strawberry and creme frappe-inspired filling with strawberry flavour rice pieces in a smooth creme filling to provide a flavourful and indulgent seasonal treat for shoppers.
Parent firm Mondelēz International said the new bar has been inspired by chilled summer drinks and has recommended consumers to keep the bar chilled to serve it.
Mondelēz also reckons the new flavour will resonate strongly with consumers throughout the summer months. This comes after Perspectus Global research commissioned by Cadbury which found that strawberry ranks as the No.2 summer flavour after caramel.
The new Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme Frappe bar is available as a 115g PMP tablet bar with an on-pack price of £1.75 per bar. Mondelēz said this format will support independent convenience retailers to drive up impulse sales across the store throughout a key sales period.
There is also a plain pack format available for retailers which comes with an RRP of £2.20.
The release also follows on from Cadbury’s limited edition release for summer 2025 with its Dairy Milk Iced Latte variant which tapped into the “fridge vs cupboard” debate over where consumers store their chocolate bars during the warmer months and how they enjoy them.
Michael Moore, marketing manager for Cadbury at MondelÄ“z International, said: “Seasonal innovation plays an important role in keeping the chocolate category exciting and relevant for shoppers year-round.
“This summer, our limited-edition Cadbury Dairy Milk Strawberries & Creme Frappe flavour taps into shoppers’ appetite for refreshing flavours, like strawberry, and the ongoing debate of putting your favourite chocolate in the fridge to enjoy it chilled.”
