One lucky winner is set to win a trip on the Caledonian Sleeper train service as well as a year’s supply of ice cream in a new competition from Mackie’s.

ABERDEEENSHIRE ice cream firm Mackie’s of Scotland has teamed up with the Caledonian Sleeper train offering one lucky winner the chance to win an unforgettable experience on the sleeper service.

Both Mackie’s and Caledonian Sleeper have teamed up to offer one winner two return tickets from any Caledonian Sleeper destination in either a Double or Club room on the train. Further to this, the winner will also receive a year’s supply of ice cream – in the form of vouchers – and 52 bars of chocolate.

To be in with the chance of winning, consumers need to enter their details via the Caledonian Sleeper ‘Golden Ticket’ webpage before 31 August, with the winner set to be announced the week commencing 2 September.

In addition to the main prize, Mackie’s has confirmed there will be further smaller prizes to be won daily throughout the competition.

Passengers in Euston Station in London had the chance to pick up complimentary tub of Mackie’s ice cream to mark National Ice Cream Day.

Kathryn Darbandi, managing director at Caledonian Sleeper, said: “Thanks to Mackie’s, our guests have been enjoying a sweet taste of Scotland onboard for a number of years, with Mackie’s chocolate available onboard.

“It’s fantastic we are able to grow this partnership with Mackie’s and to give a lucky winner the chance to win a fantastic prize which could bookend a beautiful holiday or an overdue visit to family and friends on the other side of the UK.”

The new competition comes ahead of Mackie’s expansion plans within the Caledonian Sleeper service as the firm’s mini tubs of ice creams are now set to roll out across the service’s Euston lounge for all En-suite and Club En-suite guests.

Helping to mark this and National Ice Cream Day on 21 July, Mackie’s also gave out complimentary tubs of its ice cream to passengers on platform one at Euston station in London.

Stuart Common, managing director at Mackie’s of Scotland, said: “To celebrate Mackie’s continuing partnership with Caledonian Sleeper, we’re excited to give one lucky person the chance to experience a trip on the iconic train.

“Seeing Mackie’s bars of chocolate touring the UK has been fantastic and we’re delighted to be providing a further taste of Scotland at the Euston lounge.

“If you have an interest in trains, travelling or ice cream then this is the competition for you.”
