Glasgow wholesaler uses new AI tool in response to disposable ban

GLASGOW wholesaler JW Filshill has launched a new AI bot tool to support retailers across the UK with the upcoming disposable vape ban.
Dubbed ‘Vapora’, the new AI software allows any retailer across any trading group to send a question to the bot and have it answered immediately. It can also provide retailers a list of compliant products as well as how to safely dispose of all non-compliant stock.
Simon Hannah, chief executive officer at JW Filshill, said: “Using our people’s skills and the technology now available to us, we have a duty to make that available to every single retailer to help them understand how important this new legislation is – and the implications if they fail to adhere to it.”
The new AI bot launched following on from the publication of Filshill’s new ‘Your Guide for the Vape Ban’, which was circulated among the wholesaler’s KeyStore customers and highlights the next steps that retailers need to take ahead of the deadline of 1 June. The new guide was published by Derek Cowan, Filshill’s category manager responsible for the tobacco and vapes sectors.
Now, Filshill is set to take this to the next level with the Vapora bot and support retailers across the length and breadth of the country and answer questions or concerns any store owner may have in regards to the ban.
Hannah said: “The AI bot called ‘Vapora’ is very simple to use – any retailer across the country can ask a question by sending an email to vape.question@filshill.co.uk and the bot will reply instantly with the answer.
“It also enables retailers to request a list of compliant products as well as how to safely dispose all non-compliant stock.
“In addition, it allows retailers to request insight from key Filshill and KeyStore personnel, suppliers and outside organisations using information and advice including publich health charity ASH (Action on Smoking and Health), as well as information uploaded from the full legislation documents.
“Everything you might want to ask about the disposable vape ban will be available by simply sending an email and asking a question.”
