Spar to award £100k in funding to local charities

SYMBOL group Spar UK has kicked off its Community Cashback scheme for the fourth year running, offering local charities and groups the chance to win part of £100,000.
Following on from another successful year for the scheme, Community Cashback will continue to provide some much-needed financial support for local groups across the whole of the UK by awarding grants of up to £10,000 to charities and organisations.
Applications towards the initiative are open now and will close on 4 June. Nominators simply need to highlight the exceptional work of the organisation, explain how a grant would help to further this and list the nearest Spar store location. Nominators can make their submission via this link.

The £100,000 fund will be distributed across all geographical regions in the UK and last year saw grants awarded to organisations across the breadth of the country.
This included the likes of Oliver’s Army in Scotland – an organisation that offers therapy dog assistance for children and adults living with autism, ADHD and physical disabilities – as well as Contact Hostel in Manchester which provides support and accommodation for homeless teenage girls and young women.
Ian Taylor, retail and brand development director at Spar UK, said: “Our Spar Community Cashback campaign is all about supporting the communities where out stores are located.
“We have seen first-hand the incredible impact these grants have on local organisations, and we are proud to continue giving back.
“This initiative is more than just funding – it’s a way of showing our shoppers that we truly care about the causes close to their hearts.
“Supporting local communities has always been part of Spar’s heritage, and we are committed to making a tangible difference where it matters most.”
