Local organisations benefit from new Green’s store

THE newly launched Green’s On The Go Hospital Hill in Dunfermline has marked its opening by giving away £2,000 in donations to local organisations.
The store marked its official opening on 25 June with a total £2,000 donation to two local youth-focused organisations in the area, with £1,000 going to each body.
The first of which to receive the money was Dunfermline High School with the donation set to go towards creating a new outdoor space for the school’s Enhanced Support Pupils including outdoor equipment to enhance the area, which is expected to benefit around 60 pupils at the school.
Representatives from the school, including depute headteacher Debbie Aitken and two school captains, were on hand to collect the cheque and attended the store’s opening event.
The second £1,000 donation was awarded to Brucefield Youth Organisation, a volunteer-led club that supports children from primary one to primary seven in the Dunfermline area.
The funding will go towards the purchase of new arts and crafts supplies for the group, much-needed sports equipment and board games. The group currently supports around 22 children from various local primary schools and provides an inclusive and welcoming space for all.
These latest donations from Green’s brings the group’s total community givings up to £60,000 for the year so far, highlighting Green Retail Group’s ongoing commitment to the local communities the stores operate in.
The donations were made in partnership with Co-op Wholesale‘s charity initiative Making a Difference Locally with funding from this generated through the sale of Co-op branded products in stores.
Jack Brady, head of marketing for Green’s parent firm Glenshire Group, said: “We are incredibly proud to support these fantastic local organisations as part of our store launch.
“Reaching £60,000 in community donations through our partnership with Making a Difference Locally is a fantastic milestone for Greens Retail Group, and we are delighted that Dunfermline High School and Brucefield Youth Organisation are part of that journey. We hope these contributions make a real difference to young people locally.”
