HOME delivery service Snappy Shopper has been recognised in the Sunday Times Fast 50 list as it surpasses 20million orders across the UK.

The prestigious new list highlights and celebrates Scotland’s fastest growing private companies while recognising the exceptional growth that the firm has achieved in recent years.

This comes as the home delivery service has surpassed 20million orders through its app with stores across the whole of the UK and has generated more than half a billion pounds in retailer sales through the platform.

Founded in 2017, the rapid grocery delivery service has evolved into one of the UK’s leading convenience retail technology businesses with more than 2,000 convenience store partners in hundreds of towns and cities across the UK.

Snappy Shopper has highlighted the scale of the milestone through some impressive comparisons. The firm has said that the 20million grocery orders equates to around 100,000 tonnes of shopping; at an average delivery speed of 45 minutes per delivery, the 20million deliveries would take more than 1,700 years to complete; and if placed end-to-end, the shopping receipts would strength around 4,000 kilometres which is roughly the distance between London and Cairo, Egypt.

Mike Callachan, chief executive at Snappy Group, said: “Processing 20million orders is an incredible milestone for our business and represents 20million occasions where local retailers have been able to serve their communities through technology.

“Every order reflects the trust placed in our platform by both retailers and customers and we’re incredibly proud of the impact we’ve helped create.

“To be recognised in the inaugural Sunday Times Scotland Fast 50 is a fantastic achievement for everyone at Snappy. We’ve grown from a Dundee start-up into a business supporting thousands of retailers across the UK, but our ambition remains the same: help convenience retailers embrace technology, compete in a digital world and continue serving their local communities.

“We’re proud of how far we’ve come and we’re even more excited about what comes next.”
