The relaunched store aims to offer a refreshed feeling to the area with a range to reflect the needs of local customers.

Further to this, new refrigeration units in the store will also continue the Co-op’s wider work to cut its carbon footprint, with soft plastic recycling services also available in the store.

The store has also embraced more modern day technology with self-scan tills to provide some additional ease, speed and convenience for locals at busier times.

Co-op members will be able to create additional value with personalised offers and lower prices on products and Young Scot cardholders will also receive discounts in the store.

Joan Harkiss, store manager at Co-op, said: “The whole team is delighted to invest in Portree and relaunch Co-op’s Bank Street store. It looks fantastic, transformed with a bright and fresh new look.

“We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the quality, choice and value which can be enjoyed by everyone, and really look forward to welcoming our members and customers back into their local Co-op.
