Bringing bakery-inspired flavours to Galaxy chocolate

CHOCOLATE bar brand Galaxy has expanded on its More to Share portfolio with the introduction of two new bakery-inspired flavours to the range.
Aiming to deliver more indulgent flavours for the sharing bar range, the new Galaxy Millionaire Crumble and Cinnamon Swirl variants have joined the core range of the sharing bar format.
The launch comes off the back of fresh consumer insight from VoxPop which found that 36% of Galaxy consumers rank millionaire’s shortbread as their favourite dessert-inspired flavour. Meanwhile, parent firm Mars Wrigley has said that the cinnamon flavour has continued to see popularity across the bakery aisle and can tap into the demand for comforting, nostalgic flavours.
The new Galaxy Millionaire Crumble seeks to capture the rich caramel and buttery shortbread flavours found in millionaire’s shortbread through the chocolate bar. The Cinnamon Swirl variant features small cinnamon-flavoured pieces through the chocolate that seeks to deliver on the familiar, warming taste of cinnamon-based pastries found in bakeries.
Available now in Food Warehouse and Iceland stores, the new Galaxy Made to Share range comes in a 160g block bar format with an RRP of £3.25. The new flavours are also set to roll out nationwide across the UK throughout autumn with listings including Tesco, Co-op, Sainsbury’s and Asda.
Romi Mackiewicz, brand director at Galaxy, said: “Small moments of indulgence can make all the difference, and familiar bakery flavours have a unique way of bringing comfort. We wanted to capture those much-loved tastes through Galaxy’s signature smooth chocolate, creating two new flavours that offer a fresh twist for loyal fans while inviting new consumers to experience Galaxy.
“Whether shoppers are tempted by the rich caramel notes of Millionaire Crumble or the warming sweetness of Cinnamon Swirl, the NPD gives retailers a new way to encourage shoppers to enagge with the category.”
