Finsbury Food Group sets out its cake line-up for the Christmas season
CAKES and Christmas are synonymous for consumers and Finsbury Food Group is keen to capture this excitement with its seasonal offering for 2023.
The firm has launched four cakes into its festive line-up for this year with a range of options licensed from both Baileys Irish cream liqueur and Thorntons chocolatiers.
Finsbury has returned to its Christmas classics in Baileys, with a revamped offering for its Baileys Classic Chocolate Layer Cake, Baileys Chocolate Yule Log and Baileys Red Velvet Brownies.
The renewed Yule Log sees the firm return to its chocolate flavouring, after last year’s caramel variant, with a chocolate sponge roll with a Baileys flavoured ganache on top. This is available in Asdastores from November and is set for Nisa, Spar, Co-op, Aldi, Tesco and Morrisons stores from December with an RRP of £6.
The Baileys Classic Chocolate Layer Cake is a new take on the Baileys Marbled Cake. With enough to serve 14 people, Finsbury reckons this will be a, “real party piece,” for this Christmas. Available on Sainsbury’s shelves now, the RRP for this one sits at £15.
And finally for the the Baileys line-up this year, Finsbury has its Baileys Red Velvet Brownies, offering four red velvet brownie cakes in a pack topped with Baileys flavoured frosting, a drizzle of dark chocolate and decorated with bronze sugar sprinkles. This is available in Asda now and in Spar stores late November, with an RRP of £2 per pack.
Thorntons Caramel Shortcake is in for a festive twist for this year too with the new Gingerbread Caramel Shortcake Bites. Available now in Spar, Co-op, Nisa, Aldi and Tesco stores, the RRP on this one is £1.25 and comes with eight pieces of shortcake.
Daryl Newlands, head of brands and marketing at Finsbury Food Group, said: “The festive period is often about tradition, so we have revisited and refreshed classics for our 2023 Christmas cakes and bakes.
“Our team have worked closely with our brand partners, listening to consumer feedback and updating festive favourites to bring indulgent bakes to plates as people come together for the festive season.”
