NATIONAL wholesaler JJ Foodservice is celebrating reaching a new record for its sales across the year.
The foodservice wholesaler has reported a total sales figure of £270 million for the year to 31 March, which the firm said was an increase of 22.5% compared to the previous year’s sales figures.
JJ has put this growth for the firm down to several factors, including the reopening of the hospitality sector following the Covid pandemic and retaining its new customers that took to the wholesaler during that time period.
The firm also noted that 36% of these sales had been generated from its lines of own-brand products, which was a 20% increase from the previous year.
JJ’s own-brand range includes Super Crisp chips, Letsdough bakery and VIVAT water. This has prompted the wholesaler to launch its own-brand page on its website, which JJ said will help customers to find more of its better-for-value options during the ongoing financial crisis.
Edward Lanham, chief financial officer at JJ, said: “Our customers have recognised the savings they can make by shopping own brand.
“We have more than 600 private label products, which offer high-quality, great-value alternatives to many leading brands.”
