PAYMENT service provider PayPoint is safeguarding access to cash among some of the most vulnerable communities in the UK amid the cost of living crisis.
With seven in 10 ATMs at risk of closure, PayPoint has passed the £20 million mark in cash
distribution through its Counter Cash service.
This allows customers to make a free withdrawal of any denomination from 1p to £50 with no purchase necessary.
Launched in November, the service is available over the counters of more than 4000 PayPoint locations across its 28,000-strong UK network.
PayPoint chief executive Nick Wiles said: “Safeguarding free, easy access to cash is of paramount importance and never more so than during times of economic hardship when many use it to more easily keep track of spending.”
