SCOTTISH cigarette brand Kensitas Club is now available in roll your own as JTI continues to develop the revamped heritage brand.
The range is available at a price point of £10.90 for a 30g pouch and £17.80 for a 50g pouch, making it JTI’s lowest priced rolling tobacco.
JTI said its new Kensitas Club Rolling Tobacco will enable retailers to maximise sales in the roll your own category, which is now worth almost £2.6 billion and growing 7% year on year.
Value RYO is in itself becoming increasingly popular, and has gained 15% share since April 2015 according to JTI.
Ross Hennessy, head of sales at JTI UK, said: “The re-launch of Kensitas Club earlier this year was hugely successful, and this latest extension to the range will allow retailers to capitalise on this sales momentum as well as tap into Scotland’s growing RYO segment, that is now worth an estimated £187 million.
“Value rolling tobacco now makes up 37.6% of RYO volume in Scotland and we are confident that the launch will provide retailers with a competitive product for the existing adult smokers in this segment and in turn drive incremental sales.”
The launch follows the updates to the Kensitas Club range earlier this year – which resulted in a 950% increase in volume since January.
Kensitas Club’s relaunch saw the brand introduced at a lower RRP of £8.00 and a Superking variant was also added earlier this year.
