NEW cuisines to look out for are Hawaiian, Scandinavian and plant-based, according to Merchant Gourmet.
It also said that, with sales of quinoa growing in the UK, its new British Quinoa will help meet demand while supporting British farmers.
A spokesperson said: “The popularity of quinoa can be linked with increased demand for ingredients that cater for a reduced gluten diet, combined with a growing trend for Peruvian food and ingredients.”
The spokesperson went on: “In 2015, Peruvian imports increased by 47% following a 76% growth the previous year, with total quinoa-based SKU sales in the major multiple retailers experiencing a 157% increase in the last year.”
