ONE in four UK adults will have bought food to go from convenience stores in the last seven days, but they still want more hot food options, according to HIM research, says Rustlers brand owner Kepak Convenience Foods.
The firm says its Rustlers branded microwave unit has been shown to boost sales by 86%.
• Kraft Heinz brought two of what it calls its power brands to the quick hot meals category this summer – a new range of Heinz Full of Flavour quick hot meals featuring pasta, noodles and cous cous in a variety of flavours including Chorizo, Mediterranean, Aromatic Thai, and Tomato and Marscapone, plus Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
The firm says the quick hot meals product category is currently worth £269m and is showing 1.2% year-on-year growth.
