TREATS are still in demand despite ongoing interest in health issues, according to Mackie’s at Taypack.
Global brand manager for Mackie’s Crisps and Popcorn Rebecca Russell said that Mintel recently reported 82% of adults agreed that crisps are fine to eat as an occasional treat.
She added that the report showed that while crisps have declined slightly premium crisp sales are in growth.
Russell said: “The treat factor is high on our agenda. With crisps increasingly viewed as an indulgence to be enjoyed occasionally, the taste and quality of the products on offer is more important than ever.
“Here at Mackie’s, great taste is our number one priority; we use a unique gentle cooking method to ensure a drier crunchy texture and a fresh potato taste, and then add distinctive seasonings – such as Scotch Bonnet Chilli Pepper – to give customers a product they can truly savour on treat occasions.”
