INVESTMENT in technology and improving efficiencies helped independent Glasgow-based food and drink wholesaler JW Filshill increase pre-tax profits to £1.3 million in the year to January 31, 2015 – up from £0.8m the previous year.
The increase was achieved on turnover of £151m, which was down 4.4%. But managing director Simon Hannah said the firm expected sales growth to return within the next three years as a result of population growth and changing consumer spending habits.
