SPECIALIST drinks distributor Morgenrot is looking to take advantage after The World Association of Writers and Journalists of Wines and Spirits named one of the wines in its portfolio, Bodegas Castelo de Medina’s 100% Verdejo 2012 – the best Verdejo in the world and the fourth best white wine from Spain.
The WAWWJ recently published the World Ranking of Wines of 2014.
The ranking analyses results of 75 of the most important wine competitions in the world held throughout the year 2013.
In the ranking, which has been made since 1996, the Castelo de Medina Verdejo 100% 2012 was named Best Verdejo in the World and Best White Wine from Spain, with a score of 188.88 points.
The wine was also ranked the fourth best Spanish wine from among more than 17,000 wines submitted in 2013 and was 33 out of 650,000 wines in world wine contests over the past year.
The wine won seven major awards in 2013.
