SLICES of cheddar with pop-out animals are Galloway’s latest innovation for the children’s dairy snacks category. Galloway Animals come in packs of five and are, the dairy company says, ideal for lunchboxes.
Brand manager, Christopher Huggon, said: “The kids’ snacking category is growing by 4% in value in Scotland according to Nielsen, which is ahead of total UK. This is being driven by branded (up 4%) and natural (up 10%) products. The launch of Animals is aimed at continuing this growth by offering a creative concept, dedicated to the Scottish market and using only Galloway’s natural cheddar.”
The company already has grated and sliced varieties. “These new formats have generated incremental sales as well as distribution into other channels such as convenience which continues to grow year on year,” Huggon said.
