PAYPOINT, the payments services provider, says consumers across the UK topped up their gas or electricity prepayment meters at Paypoint more than 3.8m times on the Christmas and New Year bank holidays in 2013/14.
Some 10,448 customers collected their pension or benefits in cash from Paypoint on one of the bank holidays. In total, Paypoint was used by consumers just under 5.6m times on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Seamus Smith, managing director of Paypoint said the figures were further evidence, if any was needed, of the massive contribution that Britain’s retailers make to their local communities.
