GLOBAL energy firm bp has extended its long-running partnership with food redistribution charity Felix – formerly FareShare and The Felix Project – with its new multi-year flexible funding support.

The funding is set to help Felix’s core operations and direct resources to where they are most needed and strengthen the operational infrastructure to redistribute surplus food across the UK. In fact, within the first year of this renewed deal bp has said it seeks to support Felix to deliver the equivalent of 10million meals to children and families.

As the partnership moves forward, bp has said it will continue to build on its history with both FareShare and The Felix Project and help to expand on its capacity to provide both fresh and frozen food to those in need across the UK and support fuel costs in the process.

In 2025, bp became a founding member of Felix’s new London depot, including the Felix Factory, which helps surplus food to be collected, repurposed and delivered to communities who need it most.

Louise Kingham, head of country UK at bp, said: “bp has supported The Felix Project and FareShare for several years, separately helping them expand capacity and get more surplus food to people who need it.

“We are pleased to provide flexible, multi-year funding that can help strengthen the infrastructure behind food redistribution across the UK as we also look to raise awareness of food insecurity and encourage practical action to reduce food waste.”

Charlotte Hill, chief executive at Felix, said: “The number of people experiencing food insecurity and struggling to afford enough good food to eat is very high, and the demand for our food is far outstripping supply.

“Felix is doing all it can to rescue surplus food and get it to the people who need it most, but to continue our work funding is vital. We are so grateful to bp for their support, this money will not only help us to cover our costs but ensure we can strengthen and expand our work.

“In this incredibly difficult fundraising climate, we would like to thank bp for helping us at such a critical stage in our development look forward to building on our shared impact in the years ahead.”
