Wholesaler strengthens seasonal selection

CONFECTIONERY wholesaler World of Sweets has unveiled a scarily tempting new range of sweets in time for the Halloween season.
Aiming to support retailers to tap into the strong sales opportunity that comes with the season, new products have rolled out across both the Bonds of London and Candy Realms brands to help maximise the trading period.
This comes off the back of IRI Circana data covering the four weeks to 1 November which found that sweets generated £207million sales in the lead-up to Halloween across the market.
When it comes to the Candy Realms, the brand has introduced its new Petrifying Pumpkins, a 170g pack of fruit-flavoured fizzy pumpkin-shaped jelly sweets that comes with an RRP of £1. And to tap into the demand for chocolate, the brand has also introduced its new Choco Skulls which features a strawberry and cream-flavoured chocolate in the shape of a skull. This also comes with an RRP of £1.
And for self-treat occasions, Candy Realms has also expanded on its Mallow Pops with new pumpkins, skulls and gravestones shapes to help add a further novelty for parties, trick or treating and impulse purchases. This also comes with an RRP of £1.
Meanwhile, the Bonds of London brand has bolstered its range with two sharing packs with Bonds Fizzy Fangs and Monster Mash variants. Both return from last year with a refreshed look across the packs, with Fizzy Fangs made to a vegan-suitable recipe and Monster Mash containing no artificial flavours or colours.
The Halloween range is available to trade customers through Hancocks, World of Sweets and Bobby’s Foods, giving retailers a range of options to access the seasonal portfolio.
Kathryn Hague, group head of marketing at World of Sweets, said: “Seasonal confectionery gives retailers a real opportunity to bring newness and theatre into stores.”
