LifeVac donations and visits made to three local schools

NORTH Lanarkshire convenience store Spar Clyne Condorrat has expanded on its mission to support locals with LifeVac devices by visiting three different schools across Lanarkshire.
Team members from Spar Condorrat were joined by colleagues from LifeVac Europe including Matt Banagan, co-founder of LiveVac Europe, who visited Glencryan School, Cumbernauld Academy and New College Lanarkshire to deliver training and the life-saving devices to each institution.

Speaking on the visits, Banagan said: “It was a real privilege to spend time with the staff, pupils and first aid teams at Glencryan Primary School, Cumbernauld Academy and New College Lanarkshire.
“One of the most rewarding parts of the day was knowing that we left behind not only LifeVac devices, but also greater awareness and confidence. Should a choking emergency ever occur, staff and pupils now have a better understanding of how to respond, following established first aid procedures, and have access to a LifeVac device should those measures not work.
“Our goal is always to help communities feel better prepared, and it was an honour to play a small part in that journey.”
Throughout the trip, Banagan trained over 40 pupils and first aiders in how to use the anti-choking aid and presented all three New College Lanarkshire sites with LifeVac kits. This also made New College Lanarkshire the first college campus in the UK to receive LifeVac anti-choking equipment.
The Spar team was also on hand to present Glencryan Primary with an additional travel kit to ensure pupils remained safe on trips and events outside of school grounds.
Spar Condorrat has been on a mission to deliver LifeVac devices across its entire community since 2025 and recently announced it had managed to successfully equip every school, nursery, family learning centre and a number of care homes, private nurseries, childminders and support groups across Cumbernauld with the life-saving devices.
Angela Mason, staff member at Spar Clyne Condorrat, said: “We are incredibly proud to work alongside LifeVac to help bring potentially life saving equipment and training to schools and colleges across Scotland.
“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Spar, and initiatives like this allow us to make a real difference where it matters most.
“Seeing the engagement from pupils, staff and first aid teams throughout the day was fantastic, and we are delighted that New College Lanarkshire has become the first college campus in the UK to receive LifeVac equipment.
“We hope this partnership continues to raise awareness of choking prevention and emergency response, helping more people feel confident and prepared should the unthinkable happen.”
