MORE than 6,000 visitors lapped up an open day at Mackie of Scotland’s Aberdeenshire farm and raised over £42,000 for three charities.
Scotland’s biggest ice cream producer opened its gates at Westertown dairy farm near Rothienorman at an event held by the Royal Northern Agricultural Society (RNAS) to benefit Muscular Dystrophy UK, Charlie House and Maggie’s Aberdeen.
Events included guided tours, sheep shearing, machinery and renewable energy displays, and insights into dairy herd milking. MD Mac Mackie said: “We were delighted to welcome so many people and to support the RNAS in promoting understanding of what happens daily on farms.”
