A new take that falls on the cookies side of debate

SNACKS firm pladis has further extended its McVitie’s range with the launch of the new McVitie’s Jaffa Cookies variant.
Offering an all-new take on the household cupboard staple, the new McVitie’s Jaffa Cookies bring a twist on the traditional option with a soft baked chocolate chip cookies that is half coated in chocolate with a tangy, orange centre.
In addition to this, pladis has played on the timeless debate over Jaffa Cakes and whether it is a cake or a biscuit. Although, the answer may not be quite as definitive for this one as pladis said: “Is is a cake? Is it a biscuit? This time, it’s neither, it’s a cookie”.
McVitie’s Jaffa Cookies are available now with an RRP of £2.50 across Asda Express locations and will see a nationwide rollout across Asda stores from 25 June and all major grocery retailers from 20 July.
Russell Smith, marketing manager at pladis UK&I, said: “Everyone loves a Jaffa Cake, everyone loves a cookie, and Jaffa Cookies bring together the best of both worlds.
“It’s the iconic Jaffa flavour people know and love, wrapped up in a soft-baked cookie that’s perfect for those moments when only a cookie will do. And this one can be dunked!”
