Tennent’s brings a pub classic home for the spring

LAGER brand Tennent’s is set for the warmer weather this year with the launch of its new limited-edition brew Tennent’s Tops.
Offering consumers the chance to enjoy a pub classic from the home this summer, Tennent’s Tops provides a 3.4% drink that brings an added citrus twist to the timeless Tennent’s lager recipe.
Inspired by the lager top serve – a pint of lager with a dash of lemonade on top – parent firm C&C Group said the new brew delivers a zesty twist with real character to the off-trade, with the addition of citrus balancing out the beer’s bittering hops and extra carbonation to maximise the flavours in the can.
The limited-edition brew marks the second recent release from the Scottish brewer and follows in the footsteps of the Tennent’s Bavarian Pilsner which launched in October 2025.
Tennent’s has said it saw a great success for the Bavarian brew across both the on and off-trade sectors and became the No.1 selling beer four-pack across leading convenience retailers, according to the brewer.
The launch will be supported with a digital marketing and PR campaign as well as in-store activity. Tennent’s Tops will be available as a four pack of 440ml cans and will roll out across Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s as well as the convenience channel from April.

In addition to this new launch, Tennent’s is also set to match consumer demand for the upcoming Fifa World Cup with the launch of a new pack format designed for seasonal social gatherings.
The brand has unveiled its new 18-pack of 330ml cans to deliver for shoppers who are seeking a larger pack option that can keep up with summer parties this year, especially with the national team making its return to the World Cup after a 28-year absence.
The new packs will be available across grocery and convenience from April as well.
Hazel Alexander, senior brand manager at Tennent’s, said: “We’re excited to follow the success of our Bavarian Pilsner with Tennent’s Tops – a refreshing citrus twist on our beloved Tennent’s Lager.
“Consumer demand for flavoured beer is growing and is up £3million in spend in the UK off trade, highlighting its importance on shelf. At 3.4%, Tennent’s Tops will also appeal to those looking for a reduced alcohol beer and complements our range which also includes Tennent’s Light and Tennent’s Zero.
“Summer is a key time with warmer weather often leading to more frequent socialising, longer sessions and daytime meet-ups, so it’s great to be able to offer consumers another Tennent’s option for summer, this time with the same great flavours as a pub classic.
“With more than 500 years of brewing experience, we’re excited to bring new ranges to our portfolio, giving people more reasons to enjoy a Tennent’s.”
