New distillery opens in time for Christmas
WORLD-RENOWNED gin brand Edinburgh Gin is set to open the doors to its brand new distillery on Friday 6 December.
The new The Edinburgh Gin Distillery At The Arches is located at The Arches on East Market Street in Edinburgh and aims to offer the public an “unrivalled and immersive” way to experience the brand.
The new distillery will produce every drop of gin that for the brand and has maintained the the preserved features of the location including the historic arches and exposed brickwork.
Along with this, the new distillery features floor-to-ceiling windows, a roof terrace, a bar as well as two bespoke 2,000 litre copper stills.
The two stills – named Annie and Lina after the first female gardeners to work in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh – have been engineered in Germany and represent the innovation in the world of gin distillation, says Edinburgh Gin.
Committed to producing premium gin in a sustainable way, the new distillery obtains all its energy from 100% renewable electricity sources, and will therefore be completely carbon neutral in its operations.
The distillery will offer consumers four distinct immersive experiences to choose from, including The Classic Tour & Tasting, The Gin Making Experience, the Decadent Duo: Gin and Chocolate Pairing, and the Mix & Muddle Cocktail Class. All four experiences are available to book now.
