Butchery brand unveils pork alternative
PERTHSHIRE butchery brand Simon Howie has unveiled a new alternative to traditional pork bacon with its new Streaky Beef Bacon packs.
Marking the first time the firm has produced a beef bacon product, Simon Howie said the launches are delicious whilst also containing less fat than standard pork bacon and is higher in protein.
Available now, the new beef bacon packs come in two variants including Premium Dry Cure Smoked Streaky Beef Bacon and Premium Dry Cure Unsmoked Streaky Beef Bacon.
The new Streaky Beef Bacon packs follow on from, what Simon Howie called, the successful launch of the brand’s Beef Bacon Medallions, which rolled out to stores in April this year.
And the Unsmoked Streaky Beef Bacon is already off to a strong start, as the new product has already picked up a 2024 Great Taste Award.
Simon Howie has also announced new listings for its popular Reduced Fat Black Puddingpacks, with the product now listed in Tesco stores across Scotland.
Unveiled in April this year, the Reduced Fat Gluten Free Black Pudding has joined the Streaky Beef Bacon packs on Tesco shelves in Scottish stores.
