Symbol charity initiative returns for its 10th round

Nisa’s Heart of the Community Awards has opened up for its 10th round of funding, aiming to offer local communities some much-needed support for this winter.

NISA’S Making a Difference Locally charity has launched its tenth round of the Heart of the Community Awards, offering its retailers the chance to win £1,000 for their communities.

Aiming to offer some much-needed support during the challenging winter months, Nisa retailers can apply for up to £1,000 in funding to go towards 50 selected causes.Nisa Retailers have until 29 October to get their submissions in.

The Heart of the Community Awards has already donated over £1million towards good causes across the UK since its inception, strengthening the symbol’s commitment towards having a positive impact on local communities.

For this winter, the initiative is set to focus on essential services such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens and warm hubs in a bid to provide vital relief to those most affected by the harsh winter conditions set to come.

Kate Carroll, head of charity at Nisa, said: “We are incredibly proud of the continued success of the Heart of the Community Awards. As we look towards the end of the year, we’re focusing on helping those most vulnerable during the winter season.

“Local causes such as homeless shelters, soup kitchens and warm hubs are essential lifelines for people struggling to make ends meet.

“By offering up to £1,000 to 50 different projects, we hope to provide real, meaningful support to those who need it the most.

“I encourage all Nisa retailers to get involved and apply for this funding, so together we can make a real difference this winter.”
