Sour beer brewer Vault City has launched a new, nostalgic brew for consumers to enjoy by the spoonful with its new Cereal Spooner beer.

EDINBURGH-BASED brewery Vault City is set to bring nostalgia by the bowlful with the launch of its new cereal milk flavoured sour beer.

The new Cereal Spooner Red Berry brew has been made suing fresh strawberries and raspberries as the sour beer aims to emulate the sweet tasting milk left at the bottom of the bowl from cereal.

Available from the brewer’s online store now, the new brew comes with a price of £6.90 per 440ml can with an ABV of 6.3%.

The firm is known for its boundary-pushing flavours across the sour beer space, aiming to recreate some well-loved flavours in sour beer form with consumers such as its Iron Brew variant, Jaffa Cakes as well as a truly Scottish innovation with the Deep Fried Mars Bar Sour Beer.

Steven Smith-Hay, co-founder of Vault City, said: “The words ‘sour’ and ‘milk’ don’t often go well together but we’ve taken inspiration from the sweet milk at the bottom of your bowl for our latest release.

“Paired with fresh Scottish strawberries and raspberries, with an outrageously creamy, milky mouthfeel – this is nostalgia by the bowlful.”
