Edinburgh store celebrates decade of operations
MUSSELBURGH-BASED convenience store Spar Market Pinkie Farm Convenience has marked its tenth anniversary with plenty of in-store celebrations.
The store has been serving the local population in the East Lothian area for the past decade now, providing customers with a high standard of service.
Originally set up and run by Colin Smith, the now chief executive of the Scottish Wholesale Association, the store was taken over by the current owner Dan Brown in 2018 who had worked closely with Colin when the store first opened in 2014.
The store went under a major refit in 2019 which saw the introduction of new food-to-go concepts as well as an increased chilled range, eventually all falling under the name Carla’s Kitchen.
To commemorate the significant milestone in the store’s history, Spar Scotland provided shoppers with over 100 goody bags, vouchers to save money whilst shopping in the store as well as the chance to bag some prizes from the Spar Spinning Wheel, which saw lucky consumers pick up four £50 Spar Vouchers.
Team members from Spar Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang & Son along with store suppliers and representatives from the Healthy Living Programme were also in attendance to provide food and drink samples.
Dan Brown, managing director of Pinkie Farm Convenience Store, said: “We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers and dedicated staff for their support over the past ten years.
“This anniversary is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our team and the trust of our local community. Our ambition is to keep evolving the store to give our community a store they can be proud of.”
Brian Straiton, independent sales director at Spar Scotland, said: “Our partnership with Pinkie Farm is very important to us and to show our appreciation for the positive impact the team continue to make in Musselburgh, we provided the store and the local community with a fun birthday party.”
