IAN McLeod Distillers (IMD) has launched a new blended Scotch whisky in partnership with Heriot-Watt University.
A result of a collaboration between Ian Mcleod’s Blending Room and The International Centre for Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt, a group of four students have worked together to launch the new Ian Mcleod Blending Room 01: Heriot Watt.
Available for purchase now, the new limited expression comes at a price of £35, with only 250 bottles available.
This marks the first collaboration between the two, with the project now set to become an annual limited-edition release going forward, while continuing to aid blending and distilling students with their studies in the future.
Emma Newton, blender at IMD, said: “IMD has a storied history in distilling and long-earned expertise in blending, so I think it’s fitting that we’ve had the chance to share this experience with the distillers and blenders of tomorrow from the Brewing and Distilling MSc at Heriot-Watt University.”
