CLYDEBANK Co-operative is to end its supply arrangements with Co-operative Retail Trading Group and deal instead with Glasgow-based delivered wholesaler JW Filshill, owner of the Keystore convenience store brand.

The move follows the opening of the first jointly branded Clydebank Co-operative Society/Keystore fascia outlet in Glasgow’s West End last September, which the firms say has been successful.
Clydebank Co-operative chief executive Robert Sider said: “We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with CRTG but we are operating in an extremely challenging marketplace and believe that our stores will be in a much stronger position if we have more flexibility when it comes to promotions and sourcing products.
“Our jointly branded Clydebank Co-operative Society/Keystore in Knightswood is performing ahead of targets, confirming that wider product choice and access to more local and Scottish lines is striking a chord with consumers.”
Simon Hannah, managing director of JW Filshill, said: “Clydebank Co-operative is a very forward-thinking organisation.
“We have witnessed first-hand their drive, commitment and vision for the business, and are delighted we are now going to be supplying the group’s six other outlets.”
