Sustainable firms Hive Mind Mead, The Scottish Bee Company and GNAW Chocolate have teamed up to support World Bee Day this year.

A TRIO of sustainable organisations have come together to support the health of bees across the planet in time for World Bee Day.

Set to take place on Tuesday 20 May, brands Hive Mind, The Scottish Bee Company and GNAW Chocolate have all worked together to provide consumers with a 15% discount off their designated ‘champion’ products throughout the month of May.

Each of these champion products have been made using honey and, without bees, none of which would ever even exist.

In fact, it is estimated that 75% of the world’s flowering plants and 35% of global foods crops are completely dependent on bees’ pollinating them, representing a massive amount of the world’s food supply.

To mark this, The Scottish Bee Company has reduced the price for its Chocolate Spread with Honey product; Mind Mead & Brew Co has reduced the price for its range of Honeyade drinks; and GNAW Chocolate has done the same for its Bee Happy and Honeycomb & Caramel bars, the former of which features a design in support of the bees.

Further to this, the collaborative effort will ensure bees across the whole of Britain will be supported with the brands based across Scotland, Wales and England.

To make the most of these deals, consumers can enter the code WORLDBEEDAY at checkout on the trio’s webstores:

A spokesperson for the trio of brands said: “Whilst everyone understands a little about the industrious nature of this most hardworking of insects, few of us truly appreciate the far-reaching influence our nation’s bees have on the success of our island’s flowering plants and food crops.

“This is why we wanted to bring together a discerning fine food representative from England, Scotland and Wales to celebrate World Bee Day.”
