GLOBAL drinks firm Love Drinks has expanded on its range of La Japanese liqueurs with the roll out of its new La Matcha Liqueur.

Following on from the launch of the other flavours from the brand, La Tomato and La Yuzu, Love Drinks has now completed the triad and rolled out the new matcha flavour to the retail sector in Scotland.

The new variant aims to take advantage of the rising popularity for the matcha flavour – which is a finely ground green powder made from green tea leaves typically found in China.

The latest La Matcha Liqueur sees the finest matcha tea from Uji, famous for its Japanese teas, and delicately combines Osaka sake and molasses based alcohol.

The resulting spirit comes bottles at 13% ABV and is available in a 500ml bottle with an RRP of £26.99.

Love Drinks reckons many consumers who fancy themselves a budding mixologist could find this new launch an interesting and on-trend ingredient to work with, and help to produce some unique variations on some classic cocktail serves such as a Basil Smash, Margarita, Gimlet or even a boozy take on a Hot Matcha Latte.

Samantha Burke, managing director at Love Drinks, said: “The innovative La Liqueurs are hugely respected in the Japanese mixology scene and have quickly generated a following in the UK since launch.

“With matcha a key ingredient and trend these past few years, we expect this exquisite La Matcha Liqueur to drive excitement amongst the UK’s adventurous amateur mixologists.”
