Minister joins pupils for HLP breakfast

ScotGov minister witnesses work of the SGF’s Healthy Living Programme

Holyrood public health minister Jenni Minto visited pupils at an Edinburgh primary school for the big breakfast event run by the SGF’s Healthy Living Programme.

PUPILS at an Edinburgh primary school were joined by ScotGov public health minister Jenni Minto at a recent big breakfast event held by the SGF’s Healthy Living Programme (HLP).

During her visit to Colinton Primary, Minto said: “I was very pleased to see first-hand the fantastic effect the programme is having in our local communities to support and encourage people to make healthier choices.”

Programme director Kathryn Neil said: “Our outreach involving youngsters and primary schools is a core part of changing habits and highlighting the importance of a healthy diet.

“HLP has now spoken to over 25,000 pupils through its events.”

Luke McGarty, SGF’s Head of Policy and Public Affairs, added: “We want to thank Dennis Williams and his team from Premier Broadway Store in Oxgangs for providing the healthy produce, showing just how important c-stores are for their communities.”
