Baker celebrates Kilmarnock Pie Day with consumer contest
BROWNINGS the Bakers are inviting pie lovers across Scotland and the UK to celebrate Kilmarnock Pie Day on Saturday 12 September by taking part in a nationwide photo competition that showcases just how far the famous savoury treat has travelled.
Brownings is asking customers to share photos of their Kilmarnock Pie in places that are special to them – giving them the chance of winning up to 120 free Kilmarnock Pies over the course of a year.
To enter the competition, participants must take a photograph featuring a Brownings Kilmarnock Pie, post it publicly on Facebook or Instagram and tag Brownings.
Each eligible photograph receives one entry into the prize draw. To encourage creativity, photographs taken at notable landmarks, recognisable locations or particularly imaginative settings may receive five entries at the judges’ discretion.
No purchase is necessary to enter. Eligible photos may be taken anywhere a Brownings Kilmarnock Pie is available, including in participating retail stores.
The competition is open now to UK residents aged 18 and over who are located within Brownings’ delivery area and it closes on 13 September 2026. Full terms and conditions apply.
Taking place during Scottish Food & Drink September, the campaign provides a timely opportunity to celebrate Scottish food, local craftsmanship and the rich heritage behind one of the country’s most iconic savoury products, says the bakery firm. Alongside the competition, activities include community engagement projects, charitable fundraising initiatives and celebrations linked to Brownings’ longstanding relationship with Kilmarnock FC.
The consumer contest launched with the Kilmarnock Pie Man mascot visiting some of the town’s most recognisable landmarks, celebrating the town where the pie’s story began and encouraging people everywhere to join in.
