‘Choc’-a-block with new treats

Mondelez offers new festive range

There’s a new line-up of Cadbury festive bars.

C-STORE owners will be able to entice customers with a range of exciting festive Cadbury products, says makers Mondelez International.

The line-up includes newcomers that are ideal for sharing, as well as self-indulgent treats and gifts.

“Mondelez International is central to Christmas confectionery, leading the market with the number one SKU in seven sub-categories – seasonal sharing, advent calendars, selection boxes and tree decorations, just to name a few,” said trade communications manager Susan Nash.

And responding to the increasing popularity of white chocolate with consumers, new products include Cadbury White Jingly Bells and White Hollow Santa.

With one in four households using chocolate to count down the days, buyers can now opt for the Dairy Milk Advent Bar, which is sectioned into 25 individually numbered chunks.

Grocers can join in with the fun by encouraging their shoppers to take part in the ‘One Chunk A Day Challenge’.

As anticipation builds towards the festive holidays, innovations being rolled out include the Cadbury Mini Snow Balls 110g Bar.

Oreo Festive Colours will bring a playful twist to Christmas with three 114g roll packs that
include red, green, and white coloured-creme options.

Then there’s the Cadbury Chunk Collection, available in 243g carton format, with individually wrapped pieces of chocolate including White, Dairy Milk and Dairy Milk Wholenut.

Another sales driver, according to Nash, will be the iconic Heroes Tin, which will be available in a new game edition – Who Am I? – designed to bring families together.

The Dairy Milk Winter Mint Crisp 360g block – in an eye-catching wrapper that makes it the perfect small gift – is new for 2022. Shoppers can also trade up with the Toblerone Selection Box, filled with three 100g bars and 14 treat-sized Tinies in milk, white, and dark flavours.

Finally, the brand-new Cadbury Favourites selection box has several Dairy Milk treats, including a sharing bag of Buttons, a box of Fingers, a Twirl bar and 100g tablet.

Mondelez advised that grocers can encourage early purchase by creating exciting displays and stocking a best-selling range of self-eat and Christmas sharing treats.

From November, the focus should be on the best-selling Christmas range, with trade-up options and gifting confectionery.

Nash added: “It’s clear that shoppers trust Mondelez to bring them the products they love come Christmas-time, with total seasonal sales growing more than 6% last year.”
