Partnership aims to support kids.
SPAR Scotland wholesaler CJ Lang has been putting its weight behind the Healthy Living Programme, distributing free fruit to kids across the country.
Last month, CJ Lang distributed free fruit to primary school children in the communities around its Spar stores in Abronhill, Garthamlock, Thornliebank and Erskine.
Stores in the east of Scotland are also expected to take part in the campaign, with activity scheduled for early 2022. Plans to roll out the initiative to the East of Scotland are now underway and expected for the beginning of 2022.
The Scottish Government-funded Healthy Living Programme aims to encourage healthy dietary choices among Scotland’s children.
Colin Mclean, chief executive of CJ Lang, said the wholesaler was happy to assist.
“We enjoy supporting Healthy Living Scotland’s programme, which connects local school children with healthy options available from Spar convenience stores.
“It is important that we continue to encourage children to eat fresh fruit and vegetables.”
