Good causes get boost from Nisa

Two Scottish charities were among the winners

NISA’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity has announced the winners of its biggest ever competition, giving ten small charities marketing packages worth £10,000.

The online competition was part of MADL’s 10th birthday celebrations, and offered packages designed to help charities improve their marketing, reach more funders and become more sustainable.

To apply, the charities were required to have an annual income of less than £100,000 and a plan for how they would use the funding, with wishlists including promotional films, new websites, and training courses.

The ten winning charities included two in Scotland – Create Paisley and Brothers in Arms Scotland.

Nisa’s head of charity, Kate Carroll, said: “We’re thrilled at the response we received to this competition. We had 196 entries from across the UK and all of the charities are doing such incredible work.

“We hope the extra funds and support will go a long way in helping our winning charities to communicate and promote their work to a larger audience.”

The winners will be invited to a celebratory event in September as well as marketing masterclasses from industry experts, to help them get the most out of their increased marketing budgets.

MADL has been running since 2008 and raises funds from sales of Nisa’s Heritage own-label products,  and branded products featured on the Nisa consumer leaflet.
