SCOTTISH bacon and pork producer John Robertson & Sons (Hamcurers) has bolstered its infrastructure since entering the retail market thanks to a seven figure investment in the firm.
Parent company Robertson’s Fine Foods of Ayrshire has invested £3m into the business, partly funded through a six-figure grant from Scottish Enterprise, allowing the producer to open a second factory in Irvine.
The new processing unit will increase capacity and help the firm facilitate expansion into new supply chains.
Operations director Richard Straszewskyj said: “We are now in a strong position to embark on an ambitious growth strategy that seeks to further cement our place as one of Scotland’s leading pork and bacon producers.”
