Newsagents slam Mail

THE National Federation of Retail Newsagents has expressed dismay at the news that last month’s increase in the price of the Daily Mail would be accompanied by a cut in the margin earned by retailers from 23.3% to 22.4%.

Monday to Friday editions of the Daily Mail and Scottish Daily increased by 5p to 65p but retailers receive 14.5p a copy instead of the 15.1p that previous margin rates would have yielded, the NFRN said.
The organisation has asked for a meeting with the Mail to discuss the retailer margin issue.
