LATEST products under the Lambert & Butler brand from Imperial Tobacco aim to grab a share of sales of low-priced cigarettes.
L&B Blue, also available in a smooth variant, launched last month in King Size 19s packs – with a pre-Budget RRP of £6.40.
Currently, says Imperial Tobacoco, economy and sub-economy brands account for 43% of all cigarette sales.
Alison Williams, senior brand manager at Imperial Tobacco, said:“L&B Blue has been designed to suit the preferences of adult smokers who require a lower priced cigarette but want reassurance from a big brand. L&B Blue is expected to appeal to smokers who in the past have switched from Lambert & Butler.”
The firm says L&B Blue will give a margin of 6.42% profit on return to retailers.
