RETAILERS looking to benefit from the growing consumer interest in world foods should take a closer look at the Caribbean, according to Enco Products, the Grace Foods subsidiary that supplies more than a third of Caribbean food and drink sold in the UK.
“The Caribbean food and drink category is worth £84.2 m and is growing at 7.9%,” said Lisa Leung, brand manager at Enco Products, quoting Symphony IRI.
“Consumer trends show that there is growing demand for hotter flavours and scratch cooking is on the increase,” she said.
“The versatility of the Encona range enables retailers to tap into this trend and generate maximum profits. The range can be used for a wide range of cooking occasions; whether it is as an ingredient for cooking, a marinade before grilling, as a pour over on the BBQ, as a table sauce or simply as a dressing or a dip.”
