Go Local Dumbarton Road has reopened its doors to serve locals across the Partick area.

This marks the first Go Local store in the Glasgow area as the employee-owned wholesaler Parfetts seeks to strengthen its position across Scotland with the launch of the 1,000 sq ft store.

Parfetts reckons it will be able to offer competitive deals to local residents in Glasgow through Go Local Dumbarton Road with its Big Deals promotions, covering a range of popular FMCG brands.

Additionally, the wholesaler has said that Nathalie is a strong retailer to introduce the fascia group to the area due to her strong track record as an ambassador for the Association of Convenience Stores, a passionate voice for Women in Convenience as well as a powerful representative for representing independent retailers on national platforms.

Parfetts has said that Nathalie Fullerton has been a strong retailer to help introduce the symbol to the Glasgow area.

Speaking on the reopening of her store, Nathalie said: “Bringing Go Local to Glasgow is a really exciting step and something I believe will resonate strongly with customers in the area.

“I want the store to stand out not just on value but on the overall experience, so expect to see lots of locally sourced produce on the shelves and a food-to-go option among other new services.

“The switch to Go Local will enable me to deliver this through range expansion and unbeatable promotions, while retaining my independence as a retailer.

“I’m also really excited to strengthen my existing links with the local community, which I am very passionate about. I’ve worked closely with Partick Council, donating produce for events and deserving causes and regularly provide surplus stock to local food banks, which also helps to minimise food waste and promote sustainable retailing.”

Parfetts has said the opening of Go Local Dumbarton Road makes up part of its ambitious growth plans for 2026 as the wholesaler continues to work towards adding 300 symbol stores across the UK by the end of 2026.

The Glasgow store launch follows on from a string of success for Parfetts in the country after the wholesaler opened its first Scottish Go Local store in Lockerbie in 2025.

Guy Swindell, joint managing director at Parfetts, said: “Opening our first Go Local store in Glasgow is a major milestone for the business and reflects the growing appetite we are seeing from Scottish retailers.

“Nathalie is exactly the kind of forward-thinking retailer we want to partner with. Her focus on providing dedicated service, coupled with her commitment to improving the industry, women in retail, community engagement and future services such as deposit return, clearly shows how independent stores can evolve to meet changing customer needs.

“Scotland is a key part of our expansion strategy, alongside our continued development in the south of England. We are building real momentum and look forward to welcoming more retailers into the group over the coming months.”
