CERTAS Energy has expanded its forecourt estate with the acquisition of seven new sites.
The firm behind the Gulf forecourt brand sealed the deal on the sites located in the north east of England from Marla and Gus Saggu.
The seven sites – which boast a combined fuel sales volume of 31 million litres per year – will be rebranded to Gulf this month.
Each of the forecourts’ shops will also become Spar fascia stores.
The sites are located in Bishop Auckland, Crook, Howden-le-Wear, South Shields, Stockton, West Rainton and Witton Gilbert.
Richard Billington, director of Certas Energy, described the seven sites as a “good fit” for the business.
He said: “We are delighted to have concluded this acquisition of seven well-run forecourts and a highly capable and community-minded team of people.
“It’s a good fit for our business and adds further strength to our company-operation. We already have a strong Gulf presence in the North East and these sites will be an ideal complement to our thriving Dealer operation.
