WITH one in five adults now choosing not to consume alcohol, soft drinks provide a major opportunity for independent retailers to increase their sales to those enjoying nights at home said Donna Pisani, trade communications manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Retailers should stock up on sharing sizes, such as 1.75-litre PET bottles and, with many people likely to plan impromptu gatherings, independent retailers should consider making some space in the chiller for such packs, so shoppers can consume their drinks shortly after purchase, she suggested.Stocking lower -sugar and no-sugar options, as well as different flavours, will mean consumers have a range of options to choose from, she added.
