AN established Ayrshire c-store business is on sale through the Glasgow office of business agent, Christie + Co.
Binghams Premier Convenience Store in Glaisnock Street, Cumnock is for sale freehold at offers over £220,000.
It’s described by the agent as an easily run business, in a main street position with gross weekly sales of around £15,500.
Christie + Co’s Paul Graham said the firm had completed a number of sales of retail businesses in Ayrshire recently – including Braefoot Stores in Annbank and the Spar Convenience Store in Prestwick – and he reckons the Cumnock outlet was another store that will generate a lot of interest.
Christie + Co’s Glasgow office earlier this year sold another Cumnock business – the town’s Central Garage Filling Station. The business was originally offered for sale freehold with an asking price of offers over £225,000 but the owner retained the property and the lease was offered for sale.
Paul Graham said: “Throughout the sale process, many buyers with varying degrees of experience have expressed a desire to buy this business. It was sold to an experienced retailer but first-time fuel operator from Motherwell.
“Moving ahead into 2013, I fully expect this to be an area of the market that continues to be in demand, again particularly from savvy retailers/convenience store operators, who are looking for a filling station with a good convenience store attached.”
