A LEADING Scottish Premier store owner has been explaining the benefits of Booker’s Scoot delivery service as it celebrates its first anniversary.

The wholesaler revealed that Scoot has reached a major milestone, with 300 of its symbol group retailers running Premier, Londis, Budgens and Family Shopper stores across the UK now live on the platform across the UK.

And Billy Gatt, winner of the prestigious Entrepreneur category at the 2024 Scottish Grocer Awards, is full of praise for the service.

Billy, who owns Premier Whitehills, near Banff, said: “Partnering with Scoot has been a game-changer for our store.

“The app has allowed us to reach more customers than ever before, helping us grow our business while delivering a reliable and convenient service.

“Scoot has strengthened customer loyalty and streamlined our operations. We’re proud to work with a team that shares our commitment to quality and service.”

Booker says that, since launching in February 2025, Scoot has expanded rapidly – helping independent retailers to offer fast, convenient grocery deliveries to customers in their local communities.

The wholesaler also said the 300-store milestone marked a significant step in the delivery service’s mission to support retailers in growing sales, reaching new shoppers and competing in an increasingly digital convenience market.

The platform connects shoppers with their local participating independent retailer via the Scoot app, enabling them to order groceries and household essentials.

It manages ordering, payment and picking processes, while retailers remain fully in control of their product range, pricing and delivery model – whether fulfilled in-house or through trusted third-party courier partners, such as Just Eat.

Booker reckons that demand for local delivery is continuing to grow, with more shoppers expecting same-day or on-demand options from convenience stores.

Scoot, the firm claims, provides a simple, low-cost solution that allows retailers to enter the delivery space with minimal operational complexity, supported by a dedicated launch package and ongoing marketing activity.

Damian Sanderson, Booker’s Head of Home Delivery, said: “Reaching 300 store launches in Scoot’s first year is an incredible achievement and a real testament to the ambition of our retailers and the strength of the platform.

“Scoot was built to help independent stores thrive by connecting them with their local communities in a convenient, cost-effective way.

“We’re incredibly proud of the progress made in the last 12 months and excited to continue supporting even more retailers as the platform grows.”
