THE iconic Irn-Bru Snowman advert is back on the TV once again this year, helping to spread some festive cheer throughout the Christmas season.

The campaign kicked off from 16 November this year across TV, broadband video-on-demand, out of home and social media, marking the start of the festive season for many Scottish shoppers. The ad will also run right up until Christmas, ensuring plenty of opportunities for consumers to catch the advert live.

Scottish shoppers already associate this much-loved ad to the Christmas season and resonate positively to the Irn-Bru Snowman ad, with the marketing reaching up to 75% of adults across Scotland.

The Snowman’s return also kicks off the start of a busy soft drinks season for retailers, and Irn-Bru is on-hand to ensure sales can ring out across stores this Christmas. Alongside the returning ad, Snowman packs will also be available across the two litre and 24-can multipacks formats, alongside some attention-grabbing POS materials for retailers to help create some in-store festive theatre.

Dino Labatte, chief commercial officer at AG Barr, said: “Soft drinks sales are increasingly important at Christmas, particularly carbonates, and retailers should prominently display all three variants of IRN-BRU Regular, Sugar Free and XTRA to drive seasonal category uplifts.

“Stocking IRN-BRU 1901, which is BRU’d to the original 1901 recipe, is also a must-stock variant as it appeals to a different IRN-BRU shopper and will drive incremental retailer sales.”
