Switch up the flavour with new Pearls
TOBACCO firm Philip Morris Limited (PML) has announced the expansion of its flavour portfolio for IQOS Iluma devices with the launch of Terea Pearls.
The new range features an innovative capsule technology which allows consumers to seamlessly switch between a tobacco blend flavour to a unique one, depending on the pack, with a single click.
The new Pearls range will see the introduction of four new variants to the Terea range including:
• Abora Pearl: Tobacco Blend with Strawberry and Basil
• Amelia Pearl: Tobacco Blend with Watermelon and Menthol
• Starling Pearl: Tobacco Blend with Green Apple and Menthol
• Twilight Pearl: Tobacco Blend with Blueberry with Menthol
The introduction of the four new variants now brings the Terea range to a total of 13 flavours to choose from.
PML said the new flavour combinations were specifically chosen to match the demand from adult smokers and nicotine users and are available now across all indirect retailer channels.
Retailers can also benefit from profit-on-return offers on select Terea Pearls variants too.
There has also been an early demand for Pearls variants across independents, according third-party EPOS data. The sales data revealed that nearly one in five Terea packs sold in a top-four grocery multiple within the first three months were Pearls, demonstrating a strong preference for these capsulated products.
John Rennie, commercial director at PML, said: “The responsible use of flavours is a critical factor in helping out adult smokers switch to better alternatives.
“With capsulated combustible cigarettes no longer available in the UK, capsulated heated tobacco products offer retailers a unique proposition for legal-aged nicotine users to seamlessly switch from traditional tobacco blends to unique flavour blends.
“The Terea Pearls range strengthens the flavour portfolio of IQOS Iluma with a real tobacco alternative that elevates the heated tobacco experience in a market where demand for capsulated products remains strong.”
